She’s so cool, and the groove in her music is amazing. I was really happy to have such a wonderful opportunity to discover such a fantastic artist. I absolutely love "Man I Need" because amid all her coolness, there are also soft and playful moments in her lyrics, like［talk to me］. When I usually cover songs, I tend to choose ones that suit my voice, but when I was offered this project, I realized that this was a challenging song that I had never attempted before. I got a lot of guidance from my vocal coach, who gave me advice on my rhythm, English, and pronunciation. I recorded myself using voice memos and listened back to it over and over, constantly thinking about what I needed to be careful about and where I could have fun while singing. Looking back, spending months listening to Olivia Dean’s music was a really wonderful memory for me.
